Delib is an Iberian Network of organisations and individuals who promote and foster deliberative democracy.
This drawing is a nod to a society that organizes and collaborates to advance, inspired by the work of Lynn Margulis (1938-2011), a leading American biologist. Lynn Margulis described the origin of eukaryotic cells from the symbiotic fusion of other more primitive cells without nuclei (bacteria). This theory revolutionized the conception of the origin of life and the evolution of species, focusing on collaborative and symbiotic relationships, as opposed to theories based on competition.

Created in 2023, it is a community of practice that aims to incorporate deliberative tools into the political system.
The context
Delib is part of a global context of the rise of deliberative methodologies (also called "Deliberative Wave"), which activate citizens elected by a civic lottery to reach agreements or broad majorities on political dilemmas that are difficult to resolve in any other way.
Citizens' Assemblies
Deliberative practices are materialized in the organization of citizen assemblies, also known as citizens' panels or juries, which follow international standards and are adapted to the territory that hosts them. We present here some examples that have been carried out in a nearby environment.
