Political impact of climate assemblies

What can we learn from practitioners who have been involved in the design,
implementation and evaluation of Citizens' Climate Assemblies? Emma Lancha and Isabel Becerril, researchers at CSIC, have conducted in-depth interviews with professionals who had different roles in subnational climate assemblies in France, Spain and Portugal. Based on these interviews, the authors propose in this article an extension of the OECD criteria for measuring their political impact. They propose that the evaluation should integrate the previous phases of the process, such as design and implementation, and focus on the social actors involved, in order to offer a more holistic and accurate analysis.
